Sunday I got out for a 4 miler. It said the "feels like" temp was 9 degrees, but it really felt warmer than that. It was sunny out, and the wind wasn't too bad. Eric, Logan and I drove to my in-laws Sunday morning and I hung out for a while until Logan went down for a nap. As soon as he was asleep, I took off out the door. I have been having good luck with the mapmyrun app on my phone, but for some reason it doesn't want to save my workouts. The safest, easiest route to run from the house is and out and back to another road. I was told that it was exactly 1.5 miles to the intersection, but when I clocked it on my gps, it read 1.75. That explained a lot of ridiculously long walk/run times in the past. I ran past the intersection to make it to 2 miles, then turned around. I took a 2 min break at the halfway point, and walked half of the steep hill on the way back (about 2 mins worth) but other than that I ran. The road wasn't great and the shoulders were snow-covered, but I was able to run on the road for most of the run except for a few spots with poor visibility for oncoming traffic. I'm a little sore today, but not too bad.
4 miles
43 minutes
hilly, sunny, partially snow covered.
Oh, and I registered for my first half marathon.
