bullet points

  • Operation lose the baby weight is well underway. I've been at it for about a week and I've worked out almost every day. Tonight it was hard to get motivated, but I got going and feel so much better now!
  • Tracking everything (and I really mean everything) is blowing my mind. No wonder I never lost the rest of the weight. I would estimate that I ate about an extra 400 to 800 calories a day in snacks and candy. (Right after Logan was born Easter came and I got gigantic piles of candy, which was followed by many trips to the bulk candy aisle at Wegmans. I tried to cut back, but then we resumed a new batch of therapy groups with the kids at work and I got the toughest group and have to bribe them with candy, so I went back to making multiple trips to the bulk candy aisle. Now I'm buying chewy candy that I don't like or won't eat because of my teeth - starburst, tootsie rolls, jolly ranchers...)
  • I've been keeping to my calorie limit each day and have been trying to replace only half of what I burn during workouts to get the weight loss going. I'm feeling pretty good.
  • I've registered for a 4 mile race on St. Patty's Day. My sister in law is running with me, and we'll be trailing a few minutes behind two of Eric's cousins.
  • I downloaded an alarm clock app for my smartphone that has a setting where you have to correctly answer a math question (or multiple questions) in order to snooze or to turn it off. Maybe I will finally start getting up on time.
  • If I'm lucky I get 2 hours with Logan in the evenings, so I need to get my act together so that I have some time with him in the morning too.
  • Logan is crawling! It's still army style, but he's moving along like a big boy! He hasn't figured out how to get from sitting to his belly, since his leg gets stuck in front of him. He's starting to figure out that he can pull up on things. He doesn't get a ton of floor/crawling time at daycare, because the other kids can be rambunctious, so we're trying to make sure he gets lots of time at home. He got some foam playmat squares for Christmas and a bunch of toys, so his skills are really getting fine tuned.
  • The boy loves anything that rolls and his stacking cups. (It sounded bad to write that he loves balls. Although hopefully he'll love sports as much as Eric and I do.)
  • I'm late on Logan's 9 month letter, but I'm working on it.
How's everyone out there doing?

I'm trying to lose my baby weight too..only about 7 lbs, but still. Plus some lbs. from marriage..you know..just hanging around with the hubs eating..I, too, ate WAY too many snacks/candy. I was like, "Why am I not losing these last few pounds?" Answer: stop eating junk dummy.

I know, right? It's unreal how quickly those little bites of candy and junk food add up. Looking back it's so obvious why I stopped losing weight.
