Logan started with a runny, snotty nose at the end of last week. It turned into a cold and I suspected an ear infection. The pediatrician confirmed at Logan's 9 month appointment today that he has another double ear infection. He's also cutting 4 teeth. I knew 2 were on their way in, but didn't see the other 2 side teeth. He's doing well in spite of this, but stayed home Monday and yesterday. I thought he was getting better Tuesday, but he was running a fever by the time I picked him up from day care. Eric and I both have colds, since Logan spent the weekend sneezing on both of us.
Other than that, he's doing great. He's right on track. He weighed in at 23 pounds 2 ounces, though he hasn't been eating much the last few days, so I imagine he'll pack on some ounces quickly when he's feeling better. He's 29.75 inches tall and he has a big head. (I don't remember the measurement). We skipped his vaccine today since he's not feeling well. He's meeting all his milestones and is otherwise healthy.
At the next appointment we'll have to discuss getting tubes put in his ears. As a kid I had chronic ear infections and no one ever told my parents about the option to put tubes in. Because of that I have a little hearing loss and it affected my speech. (Ear infections + tongue tie = 2 years speech therapy). I'm mixed on this, but it's a pretty minor procedure and I'd rather take preventive steps now, than try to fix other problems down the road.
I haven't worked out since last weekend since I've been sick and busy taking care of Logan (plus a little bit lazy) but I'm still tracking everything I eat every day. It's paying off and I'm down 8 pounds since Dec 27. Only 18 pounds to go. I'm going to try and get in a couple workouts and runs over the next few days. I'm hoping to take advantage of the 3 day weekend to get a couple runs in. The biggest issue with running is just finding enough daylight hours to get them in. Logan is cozy in the jogger with the weather shield if we run together. I can also opt to run on my own and leave him with Eric or Eric's parents if we are their house for the weekend.
