registered

I just registered for a 4 mile race on St. Patrick's Day. I'm psyched.

The last week I've been battling a cold, so I haven't been working out. I've been trying to stay on track with my diet, and tracking everything I eat. I really can't say enough about how writing down everything I eat makes a big difference. I've been using the myfitnesspal app to track what I eat and my workouts. Seeing how quickly the calories add up here and there really makes me think twice about what I eat. I've been eating green beans, sugar snap peas, and green peppers when I need something with a crunch. It really does fall to the veggies and fruit to add volume to my meals.

Last night I got on the stationary bike and told myself that if I wasn't feeling it I could stop after 10 minutes. I gave it a hard effort, and my legs were tired after, but I did stop after 10 minutes. Tonight I'm planning on 20 minutes on the bike and the 30 Day Shred. I'm holding steady at 8 pounds lost, so I need to keep pushing through. I ordered the Ripped in 30 DVD by Jillian Michaels, so I can add some more variety to my workouts. I hate how monotonous the 30 Day Shred is when you do it day after day.

I really want to get a run in, but with Logan not feeling well and the single-digit temps this weekend, it just wasn't in the cards for us. I was on my own this weekend, since Eric went to his parents early Saturday and came home late afternoon on Sunday.
